Snapshot: 15 October 2026. Links go to the sources; the full list is at the end. This is a follow-up to the September 23 overview of Asian Web3 gaming.
Since Jang Hyun-guk took over in January 2025, NEXUS has built almost every layer of a vertically integrated game economy: its own chain, its own app store, its own payment rails, its own creator and quest network, its own games, DeFi on top, and AI agents wired into all of it. The stated goal is to tie game distribution, item payments and digital asset trading into one ecosystem that earns a fee on every transaction (Sat Economy). The build is real and it is broad. What it has not proven yet is volume and profit.
Since September 23
No single big event, but the corporate and platform pieces kept landing on schedule.
14 Oct. Q3 preview from GameVu: rebranding costs are behind them, and the item exchange, ONEshop, ONEpay and ONEcash went live at the end of Q3. Q4 adds a mobile item exchange with its own currency (ONEdia) and a monthly subscription bundling webtoons, web novels and AI character chat.
14 Oct. The Dubai entity NEXUS Hub was reported as selected for the UAE's Future 100 program (GameVu).
Late Sep. The board approved a share swap for the remaining 3.63% of ONE store. Appraisal rights open in late October, the swap takes effect on 8 December and new shares list in late December. ONE store then becomes a 100% subsidiary (Sat Economy).
23 Sep. stONE liquid staking launched. It will serve as collateral in the upcoming ONElending to borrow ONEUSD (Newspim).
23 Sep. HashKey Cloud joined as validator, alongside ONE store, Hlab, CertiK, Onchain Labs, Raid Labs and Mblock (Kyunghyang Games).
18 Sep. Reports say NEXUS is buying the KT and LG U+ stakes, taking it from 89.03% to 95.88% of ONE store on completion. The sellers become NEXUS shareholders (Sat Economy).
16 Sep. Mblock, Maekyung Media's blockchain arm, joined as validator (MSN).
10 Sep. $ONE listed on Kraken in a USD market, adding to Korbit, Coinone, GOPAX, Bitvavo, Gate, Bitget, KuCoin and Binance Alpha (Newspim).
The September checkpoint from the last piece is still open. Management targeted a monthly profit at ONE store in September and a quarterly profit in Q4 (GameVu). No public confirmation yet; the Q3 results will tell.
The stack, layer by layer
Every layer below is live today, not a roadmap item.
Chain. ONEchain Mainnet 2.0 "Breakpoint" went live on 1 June with about 98% governance approval. It runs PoSA with 21 validators, burns all base fees, and ships the ERC-8004 agent registry and x402 agent payments (Digital Today).
Distribution. ONE store in Korea, installed on about 38 million devices (Inven Global), and ONE store Global in 122 countries on one build. ONEplay runs instant games, including Chinese WeChat minigames (MTN). The AI Games tab opened on 7 August with 20 titles made on Verse8 (Byline Network). There is also a director's cut category.
Payments. ONEpay, ONEcash, ONEshop, an item exchange and the ONEpocket embedded wallet (GameVu). NEXUS plans to wire the KRWQ won stablecoin into ONEpay for payments and developer settlement (Sat Economy).
Engagement. ONEquest missions pay store points in Korea and ONE globally. ONEwave runs creator campaigns, and the streamer tokens introduced in July use revenue-funded buyback and burn (Kyunghyang Games). Streamers grew from 2,762 in January to 33,419 in July (iNews24).
Games. 11 games with 14 tokens on ONEgametoken, including Seal M, ROHAN2, Frost Kingdom, CHAOS W, Throne of Chaos and Dungeon CROSS.
DeFi. The ONEgametoken AMM, stONE, Punch prediction markets and the ONEforge bonding-curve launchpad, with ONElending announced (ONEchain Skills).
AI agents. MoltyRoyale launched in February; about 16 million AI agents had taken part by April (Sidae). ONEchain Skills v2.0 lists nine agent skills covering trading, shop checkout, NFTs, staking and quests (ONEchain Skills).
The agent layer was not bolted on this month. ERC-8004 and x402 shipped with the June mainnet. Jang has called "agent gaming" the next shift in the industry since at least June (Dealsite). The skills suite is that plan reaching end users: one sentence to an agent can go from comparing ROHAN2 packages to checkout to verifying the transaction on the explorer.
The games are the engine, and one of them carries most of the weight:
Seal M on CROSS (with Playwith Korea) launched globally on 19 March (PlayToEarn). It passed 300,000 DAU shortly after launch and drove Q1 revenue up 76% (CEO Score Daily). Jang put its daily revenue at around 200 million won and said it outperforms the original Seal M more than 50 times (Daum interview). It is now in Season 8, which has a live ONEwave campaign.
ROHAN2 Global keeps getting updates, judging by its ONEwave campaigns: server merges, a "Rohanomics" economy upgrade and new classes.
Frost Kingdom is NEXUS's first self-published title, launched on 23–24 July as a merge SLG, with a Korean version without blockchain and a global version with it (iNews24). On 15 August NEXUS reported #1 on the Korean App Store and Google Play popularity charts (eGamers).
CHAOS W launched in late April, and an AAA MMORPG was announced for 2026 (CEO Score Daily).
Token design has evolved
The common thread: a token economy should be fed by real cash flow, not by inflation. Jang has said many token projects failed exactly because they had no real revenue behind them (Kyunghyang Games). Each new design pushes further in that direction:
Seal M (March). A fixed pool of 10 million Shiltz Crystals per season, split by final ranking. Crystals convert to SHILTZx through mint-and-burn, and the chain layer is optional (PlayToEarn).
Seal M (from Season 5). Season 5's distribution was based on the Crystals burned in-game during Season 4, so emission follows actual consumption (Seal M patch notes).
Frost Kingdom (July). RDIA is capped at 500,000, and 5% of game revenue goes to a pool paid out in ONEUSD to holders, pro rata (iNews24).
Streamer tokens (July). Part of each streamer's ONEwave revenue buys back and burns that streamer's token (Kyunghyang Games).
Chain (June). All base transaction fees are burned (Digital Today).
It reads as a deliberate move away from inflationary play-to-earn, including the WEMIX-era economies Jang himself ran.
ROM: Golden Age marks the limit. CROMx was also strictly capped, with a revenue-fed pool and seasonal on-chain rankings (Kuki News). The game shuts down today, 15 October, and CROMx sat at a market cap of about $249 in late September (ROM official site). A capped supply holds value only while the game holds players.
ONEwave: the budget follows the games that work
ONEwave is NEXUS's user acquisition engine, paid in ONE instead of ad cash. Creators make guides and streams and share each campaign's pool (ONEwave campaigns).

The money goes where the players are. Seal M, the game that carried Q1, got the biggest share, and at least one creator guide for the Season 8 update carries a SHILTZx Creator Boost code. ROM got two campaigns built around CROMx and still shut down, so promotion alone does not keep a game alive.
The mix is also shifting toward ONE store's Web2 catalog. Cooking Adventure was billed as the first Web2 game on Wave, and recent campaigns include Idle Fantasy, Gemini Seed and Pixel Tamerz. Pixel Tamerz's campaign tagline, "Summon & Evolve Spirits", also appears on a banner on ONE store Global. The token is now funding the marketing of the Web2 store that has to deliver the profit.
What is still unproven
Revenue depends on hits. Q1 revenue was about 11.6 billion won, up 76%, with a small operating profit, carried by Seal M (CEO Score Daily). Q2 revenue fell to about 5.8 billion won, down 37.8% year on year, with a 5.3 billion won operating loss. The Q2 net profit of 8.1 billion won came from a one-off 15.7 billion won bargain-purchase gain on ONE store (iNews24). One hit is not a stable income.
ONE store is the bridge. It gives a steady Web2 base the Web3 layers can grow on. ONE store Global today looks like a regular games store: top grossing includes MAke Drama, Horizon Walker and Pixel Tamerz, and Frost Kingdom sits in New & featured. GameVu flags the open question itself: whether minigames and AI content keep users and convert them to paying (GameVu).
The token sits at its line. The ONEwave page shows 150,000 ONE as about $16,054, which puts ONE near $0.107 on 15 October. In April, Jang said the $0.10 public-sale price is a commitment the company will uphold.
Open items:
What backs ONEUSD? It matters before stONE becomes loan collateral in ONElending.
How much ONEUSD does the Frost Kingdom 5% pool actually pay out, against RDIA's market cap?
Do ONEwave campaigns turn into paying players? The pools are public, the conversion is not.
Checkpoints and bottom line
Q3 results. Did ONE store hit a monthly profit in September, and does the operating loss narrow from Q2?
8 December. Does the share swap take effect and make ONE store a 100% subsidiary?
ONElending. Does it launch with a clear answer on what backs ONEUSD?
AAA MMORPG. Does it ship before year-end, as announced?
Seal M. Does it keep players and revenue after the Season 8 update?
RDIA pool. Do ONEUSD payouts grow with Frost Kingdom revenue, or shrink like ROM's?
ONE price. Does it hold around the $0.10 public-sale level Jang committed to?
Bottom line. NEXUS has built the whole stack: chain, store, payments, creators, games, DeFi and agents. That is a lot of shipping in under two years, and the token designs show a team that learned from the inflationary play-to-earn era. The question has moved from "can they build it" to "does it pay". The Q3 results are the first real answer.
If a thesis fails, it gets marked as failed here.
